At Solar Land Agent, we partner with Developers to eliminate the need for full-time employees, saving the company time, resources, and money. We make land acquisition more efficient by utilizing our Real Estate, Finance, Agriculture, economic development, and Renewables experience.
We locate properties suitable for solar farming using various proprietary Real Estate, Solar Valuation, and Mapping Software.

Mary Ellen Barker, Co-Founder & CEO
Mary Ellen Barker is a Co-founder and CEO of Solar Land Agent, LLC. She works with renewable energy partners to identify and develop the best project sites. Her experience in the public and private sectors provides a unique perspective in working on renewable energy projects. Her journey into renewable energy began with her desire to help reduce carbon emissions and seek alternative energy sources.
Mary Ellen is a Former International Trade Director for the Georgia Department of Agriculture, where she helped launch Georgia agricultural products into international markets. The USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) recognized her contribution to expanding global market opportunities by presenting her with the "International Honor Award."
She has a strong background in Agribusiness, Business Development, economic development, and Real Estate. Mary Ellen also serves on the Board of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES).
Mary Ellen attributes her success and strong work ethic to growing up on a farm. She recognizes the importance of servant leadership through her involvement in the work of numerous charitable organizations. She is a native Georgian who graduated from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, majoring in Finance & Risk Management, and received her MBA from Mercer University.

Gary Barker, Co-Founder & COO
Gary Barker is a Senior Finance Executive with 20 years of global experience across a diversity of industries, managing firms spanning all phases of the growth cycle.
As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he is passionate about leveraging his 15 years of Technology experience in the Renewable sector. His industry experience spans cloud-native eCommerce, Software as a Service (SaaS), Digital Transformation, and Renewable Energy.
His educational accomplishments include a BBA - Finance, graduating Magna Cum Laude, MS - Finance, and a MS - International Business from Georgia State University, where he received the George J. Malanos Graduate Award for Academic Excellence. His industry credentials include Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
Having spent many summers visiting US National Parks and countless weekends enjoying the great outdoors, Gary is passionate about renewable energy technology and the promise of a sustainable future.
