Mary Ellen Barker, Co-Founder & CEO
Mary Ellen Barker is a Co-founder and CEO of Solar Land Agent, LLC, a leading firm specializing in land for solar projects. She collaborates with renewable energy partners to identify and develop optimal sites for solar farms. Her extensive experience in both the public and private sectors provides a unique perspective on renewable energy initiatives, particularly in the realm of agrivoltaics. Mary Ellen's journey into renewable energy was fueled by her commitment to reducing carbon emissions and exploring alternative energy sources.
Previously, she served as the International Trade Director for the Georgia Department of Agriculture, where she successfully launched Georgia agricultural products into international markets. The USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) acknowledged her contributions to expanding global market opportunities by awarding her the "International Honor Award."
With a robust background in agribusiness, business development, economic development, and real estate, Mary Ellen also holds a position on the Board of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), advocating for solar farming initiatives.
Mary Ellen credits her success and strong work ethic to her upbringing on a farm, where she learned the value of servant leadership through her engagement with various charitable organizations. A native of Georgia, she graduated from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business with a degree in Finance & Risk Management and earned her MBA from Mercer University.

Gary Barker, Co-Founder & COO
Gary Barker is a Senior Finance Executive with 20 years of global experience across a diversity of industries, managing firms spanning all phases of the growth cycle, including Solar Farms and Agrivoltaics.
As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he is passionate about leveraging his 15 years of Technology experience in the Renewable sector, focusing on Solar Farming and Land for Solar initiatives. His industry experience spans cloud-native eCommerce, Software as a Service (SaaS), Digital Transformation, and Renewable Energy.
His educational accomplishments include a BBA - Finance, graduating Magna Cum Laude, MS - Finance, and a MS - International Business from Georgia State University, where he received the George J. Malanos Graduate Award for Academic Excellence. His industry credentials include Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
Having spent many summers visiting US National Parks and countless weekends enjoying the great outdoors, Gary is passionate about renewable energy technology and the promise of a sustainable future, particularly through his work as a Solar Land consultant.
